Everest base camp trekking is so popular because of the highest mountain Everest. Kalapathar is the best view point for the highest mountain Everest. Everest Base Camp & Kalapathar is the second most popular trekking destination after Annapurna region. The total trip 16 days and reaches a maximum height of 5545m. at Kalapathar.  Everest base camp trekking is surrounded by awesome high peaks, amazing landscapes and rich biodiversity. The attractions include spectacular scenery and the outgoing Sherpa people of the Solu Khumbu, the khumbu region where Mt. Everest (8,848m / 29, 028ft) and its attendant lesser peaks are located. We can see Lhotse (8,516 m-24,940 ft), Nuptse (7,855m-25,772 ft) and Lho – La or Khumbutse peak (6,036 m – 19,992ft) Mt. Lingtren (6,749 m / 22,142 ft) Chnagtse ( 7,583 m / 25,230 ft) Mt. Pumori (7,161 m / 25,772 ft)  Ama Dablam ( 6,812 m / 22,480 ft) Kangtenga (6,782 m / 22, 380 ft) Tharmarserku ( 6,623 m / 21, 855 ft) Kwangde (6,011 m / 19,837 f     t) Kusum Khanguru (6,373 m / 21,030 ft) holy peak of Khumbi-la (5,761 m / 19,012 ft) and as far world’s 5th highest Mt. Makalu (8,463 m / 27, 766 ft) with trekking peaks Island Peak / Imjatse (6,160 m / 20,328ft) Lobuche Peak (6,119 m / 20,192 ft) Pokhalde ( 5,806 m / 19,159 ft) and many other smaller unnamed peaks.

The Everest trekking starts from Phakding (2840m.) and passes through Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is beautiful Sherpa village but now it looks like an alpine resort than a Sherpa village, because trekkers are increasing. Tengboche is popular place because of big monastery and view point.

We find many types of trees and wild life in this region. We can see Chir pine, Blue pine, Junipar, different types of rhododendron and many kinds of herbs and flowers. Probably we can see that birds are Impheyan Pheasant (national bird of Nepal), Crimson-horned Pheasant, Snow pigeon, Golden Eagle, Snow Cocks etc. and animals are Musk Deer (rare animal in the world) and Himalayan Thar etc. It is believed that Yeti lives in this region.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to your hotel.

Day 02: Preparation for trekking, half day sightseeing (one or two heritage site visit in Kathmandu).

Day 03- Fly to Lukla (2840 meters) trek to Phakding (2610 meters) 3 hours.

An early morning start takes us to International Airport in Kathmandu for the 30 minute scenic flight to Lukla at 2840 meters. We meet our porter/s in Lukla and easy trek to Phakding at 2610 meters.

Day 04- Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters) 6 hours.

We trek along the Dudh Kosi River, crossing this river five times by suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. Namche Bazaar known as the Gateway to Everest which is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, Money exchange, internet café, bank, laundry service and  bakery. Namche is one of the biggest villages along the whole Everest trail.

Day 05-Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.

We will spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air. Today we hike up the Syangboche Airport, and around Everest View Hotel. From this point, we can see the Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Thamserku, Taboche and many others.

Day 06- Trek to Tengboche (3860meters) 5 hours.

The trail climbs to the Tengboche at the ridge, through rhododendron forest, juniper. There is a popular monastery. We can visit that monastery with the Everest and other mountain view.

Day 07-Trek to Dingboche (4440 meters). 5 hours.

We hike down to Diboche and after crossing the river the trail gradually take up to Dingboche valley. We see the breathtaking view of Amadablam Mountain in the right side.

Day  08 – Acclimatization day in Dingboche.

We will spend another day here in order to acclimatize and adjust with the altitude. Today we hike up to Nagarjung hill for good view and acclimatization.

Day 09-Trek to Lobuche (4910 meters) 5 hours.

The first 2 and half hour is easier way to Thugla. After Thughla way is steep up to the small ridge, called Thugla pass. That ridge is memorial place for those who lost their life in Mountain. After the memorial place way is easier to Lobuche in one more hour.

Day 10- Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365 meters) then trek back to Gorak Shep (5180 meters). 7 hours.

After an early morning start leaving Lobuche, we head up to Everest Base camp (5365meters) you will have unobstructed views of many mountain giants like Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse and Lhotse looming directly ahead and on all sides. Then we make our return to Ghorakshep at elevation of 5180 meters.

Day 11- Trek to Kalapathar (5555 meters) then trek to Pheriche(4200 meters) 7 hours.

After reaching Base camp of Everest our aim today is to trek Kalapattar (5555 meters). We start early to reach the viewpoint that offers some of the best views of Mount Everest as well as other panoramas of the surrounding mountains. And then We trek to Pheriche at elevation of 4230 meters.

Day 12- Trek to Tengboche (3860 meters). 4 hours..

We trek to Tengboche.

Day 13- Trek to Monju (2830 meters) 6.5 hours.

We trek to Monju.

Day 14-Trek to Lukla (2840 meters). 7 hours.

Finally we return to Lukla which was our trekking starting point.

Day 15-  Morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla.

We fly early in the morning enjoying the scenic Nepali landscape and the glimpse of mountains, hill, valley and rivers.

Day 16-  Free day in Kathmandu.

Day 17 – Transfer to International Airport.
