Jan 25, 2017 – China has announced Nepal Tourism Year 2017 to encourage Chinese people to visit Nepal. The promotion year will help Nepal’s tourism market to revive that has been affected by the earthquake. Rise in Chinese arrivals would enhance the possibility of greater Chinese investment in Nepal’s tourism industry.
The numbers of Chinese visitor were decreased after the massive earthquake in 2015. Chinese 123,804 people visited Nepal in 2014. The arrivals from China decreased to 66,984 individuals in 2015, down 45.89 percent from the 2014. Despite the drop in arrivals, China remains Nepal’s second largest source of tourists.
Nepal-China Tatopani boarder is blocked due to earthquake. So the inconvenient flight schedules and expensive airfares had resulted in the number of Chinese travelers dropping sharply last year from 2014. On December 25, 2015, Nepal announced free visa for Chinese tourists, giving them the same treatment as to SAARC visitors to rise up arrivals.
Millions of Chinese vacationers move to foreign destinations to visit abroad, has been the world’s largest outbound tourism market since 2012. According to the China Tourism Research Institute, China had 120 million outbound visitors in 2015 and they spent $104.5 billion, recording increases of 12 percent and 16.7 percent from 2014.

Published on Jan -7, 2017: The number of tourists in the Mt. Everest region increased by 33.66 per cent in 2016 as compared to 2015.
Total 27,465 tourists visited the Everest region in 2015 whereas total 36,694 tourists visited in 2016. This number is 9,229 more than in the previous year. The tourist arrival in the Everest region had fallen drastically due to the massive earthquake of 25th April, 2015, but it increased in 2016. Among them, most of the tourist trekked to Everest base camp and few visitors trekked to Gokyo valley and other routes.
October and November, 2016 were the busiest months for trekking in Everest region. Some days, more than 500 visitors entered from the Sagarmatha National Park check post in a day. Cozy airport, Tenzing Hilari Airport was busy, most of hotels were full, and there was long queue and crowd on the way to Everest base camp, mountain weather was good.
Two years back, 2016 is succeed year for Everest summit. Over the past two years, tragedies and difficult circumstances had accord in Everest region during the Mount Everest climbing season in May. In 2014, 16 Nepali mountain workers were killed, and nine more were injured, in the Khumbu Icefall, a tragic circumstance that led to calls to improving the working conditions, both in terms of improved safety and insurance policies, for mountain workers. And in April, 2015, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake devastated Nepal, about 9,000 deaths and more than 22,000 injured across the country and Nepal and Chinese governments closed Everest to climbing. Total 641 climbers made the Everest summit in 2016 and total 4469 people have scaled Everest since Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa first climbed the mountain on 29th May 1953.

The music video was written and directed by Krishna Kumar Gurung featuring Padma Ghale, Preety Gurung and Bishma Gurung. The video produced by Bhakari Pokhara and vocal by Tara Shreesh Magar.
Local Community has tried to incorporate various elements of their village in the music video— culture, tradition, art, local diversity, and landscape. The video has attracting tourists to visit Siurung village. Video will helps promote tourism in Siurung village, Lamjung.
